The African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF), Chicago Committee and the Ellen Stone Belic Institute for the Study of Women and Gender in the Arts and Media, Columbia College Chicago invite you to a screening of Pray the Devil Back to Hell, a powerful documentary film about the extraordinary role Liberian women played in bringing peace to their country. The screening will benefit AWDF's global endowment campaign co-chaired by President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf of Liberia and Former First Lady of South Africa Graca Machel.

The event will begin with a reception at 5:30. Following the screening, there will be a discussion about the links between women's struggles around the world. Panelists will include Abigail Disney, the film's producer, Leymah Gbowee, an activist featured in the film, and Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi, AWDF’s Executive Director. The moderator of the panel will be Columbia College professor, Shanita Akintonde.
